What are you passionate about? How can you change or improve your world?
Step 1: Choose a topic such as:
-Promote a charity, non-profit, or volunteer group
-Promote saving the environment (a certain endangered animal, global warming, renewable energies, recycling, cleaning up rivers, pollution, saving pollinators, planting trees, reducing your carbon footprint)
-Promote Mental & Physical health and safety (depression, drug abuse, benefits of meditation, benefits of sports, prevent bullying, suicide, hunger, food deserts, vaccinations, shootings, gangs, racism, abuse, consent, homelessness, sex trafficking, police brutality)
- Explore passion projects, genius hour, or Wonderopolis
-Learn something new in-depth such as an animal, an event in history, a culture, a country or place. Plan a road-trip and research several places to visit.
Step 2: Create a Google Sildes presentation to keep your research, sources, and information organized
Step 3: Conduct background research, narrow your topic, & generate a problem question.
For example, ask yourself what would you like to change about the world, school or classroom, neighborhood, or anything else related to their area of interest. For example, if a student said it bothers them that people litter, their question may be, “How can I decrease littering in my community?”
Record all website and sources on the same slide as you put your notes/information, so you are tracking where all information/facts are pulled from
Step 4: Create a product
This could be in the form of a video or poster campaign (PSA), it could be a presentation or instructions on doing something, it could be an actual prototype.
Step 5: Present and promote it.
