Welcome to the new School Year
I have been at South Loop School since 2006. First as a student teacher, then I was hired officially In 2007. I spent 5 years teaching 4th grade, which I loved. Since then, I taught 5th-7th Grade Social Studies for five years, and now I teach media literacy/technology for grades K-8. I also serve as the school's technology coordinator.
I graduated in 2007 with my B.A. in Elementary Education. I went on to get my Masters in Ed. in 2012. I have continued my professional growth through various online platforms such as Adobe, code.org, and google suite. I am also a Google Certified Educator!
One of the things I value most about being a teacher is the relationships I build with my students. I love to learn so much about the individuals who walk through our halls. I ensure that my students know that my door is always open to them for any of their academic or social-emotional needs.
When I’m not at SL, I love spending time with my daughter, my husband Kevin, and our dog Lennon. We enjoy binge watching a variety of shows, Wednesday night dates, slurpees (he proposed at 7-Eleven!), concerts, college football, and spending time with family. My favorite thing to do right now is hanging out with my soon to be 5 year old daughter, Penelope!
