Summary: This book is about Cesar Chavez and his family. They wanted longer breaks and more pay at work so they did a march. At the end, the owners wanted to sign a contract and workers got their pay and breaks.

I like this book because it taught me that in the past, life was not fair for workers. I like this book because it gives a lot of information about Cesar Chavez. I recommend this book because it teaches us about the history of farm workers and Cesar Chavez.

Summary: Malala wanted to help all girls go to school. The Taliban did not want girls to go to school. So they shot Malala and she had to go to many hospitals but she did not give up.

My opinion is everyone should have an education. One reason I like this book is that it tells how girls still have trouble getting an education. I recommend this book because it teaches kids that girls are treated unfairly.

Summary: The girl wanted to play drums but only boys could play. She told her father she wanted to play and he found her a music teacher to decide if her drumming should be heard.

My opinion is that boys and girls should be able to play drums. Girls like music too. I would recommend this book because at first only boys can play but at the end that changes.

Summary: Kamala and Maya wanted to make a playground. The landlord said no and that it was too big of a project. They made the playground with help from others. They had a big celebration.

I recommend this book because it teaches us that helping can create change. It teaches us how to change a "no" to a "maybe" and then to a "yes"! I also recommend the book because it shows us how to collaborate.

Summary: The people in the book are water protectors. They want healthy and clean water. Then, the government made a pipe with oil in it and threw it in the water. They protested to the government about the pipe being removed. The water protectors told the government to think about removing the pipe.

I like this book because it was like other protest books when they want something and they fight for it. I recommend this book for children because it will teach them when they see something wrong, to say something.

Summary: The kids wanted to march for change. They went to jail and they got water from a water hole pushed at them. But the kids kept marching for change. At the end, Congress passes the Civil Rights act of 1964 which outlawed discrimination.

I think it is a good book because I know that kids can change the world. I recommend this book because everyone can change the world.

Summary: Mia wanted to get a parrot for her grandma. They went to get a pet parrot for her grandma. Then the grandma saw the parrot and she loved it.

One reason I recommend this book is because it has different details about the characters and places. Another reason I liked the book is the characters. They looked awesome and the pictures.

Summary: Mae wanted to fly to space and see Earth. She wanted to become an astronaut. She read books at the library with her mom. She drew pictures of space and even made an astronaut suit. She had a dream.

I like this book so much. One reason I think it is good is because it has a lot of feelings and interesting things. Another reason is that it is talking about space and I really like space. I recommend this book because little kids can find interesting things in this book so it will be so helpful. I also recommend this book because it teaches us to dream big! I think that kids will want to be anything they want to be when they grow up. I like this book so you should too!

Summary: Joseph's grandpa wanted to touch the bread dough. But the boss said to sweep the floors because he was Black. So they went on strike. Then, everyone could touch the bread dough no matter their skin color.

I like this book because I like how they convince the boss to let everyone touch the bread dough. Everybody should be able to touch the bread dough. This is a great book because they come together. I recommend this book because it will teach everyone to come together to make change .
