Introduced in the fall of 2019, N:Vision is a Competency-Based Education (CBE) program that utilizes an experiential learning model, challenging students to apply their learning beyond the walls of their classroom.
The curriculum in this program is centered around student voice and choice. As students demonstrate competency in one area, they move on to the next, ultimately resulting in a learning experience that is tailored to them and their areas of strength as well as their areas for growth. With an emphasis on student reflection and ownership, the N:Vision program enables students to take charge of and be responsible for their own learning.
In this four year pathway, students:
Ask Big Questions: N:Vision focuses on big, messy questions that are interdisciplinary and project-driven.
Live Core Values: Northside’s core values - engagement, ethics, curiosity, collaboration, and empathy- are interwoven through all learning experiences in the curriculum.
See Classrooms Everywhere: N:Vision rethinks high school in order to solve real problems. Through the use of unique schedules, community partnerships, experiential learning, and non-traditional evaluation, students have the opportunity to learn everywhere -- truly making the world their classroom.
Activate Learning for All: N:Vision is for every kind of learner: trailblazers, dreamers, innovators, activists, team players, game changers, and everyone in between!
