Ms. Erin sets these three items as the basic norms for our classroom community. Students will discuss and add their own norms during the first weeks of school.
La maestra Erin tiene tres normas para establecer una comunidad en clase. Estudiantes van a hablar sobre sus propias normas durante las primeras semanas de escuela.
We respect each individual person and our classroom community. Each student and teacher is unique. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses, our own experiences and dreams. We do not have to agree all the time or like the same things, but we do need to listen and try to understand one another. We use kind words and actions and we believe in each other. When we hurt someone, we apologize and work to heal the relationship. We value our time together and prioritize building a healthy community.
We are bilingual. All students and teachers use English and Spanish to the best of their abilities. Our bilingual brains are always working. We never mock someone's accent, vocabulary, or way of communicating. We prioritize growth in both languages for everyone.
We are all learning. An online classroom feels different from an in person class in many ways. Teachers and students bring many different skills to the group. We will take our time to make sure all students and teachers feel confident and can access our activities from home.
Respetamos a cada persona y a nuestro comunidad de clase. Cada estudiante y cada maestra es única. Todos tenemos nuestros propios destrezas, retos, experiencias, y esperanzas. No hay que estar de acuerdo en cada situación, pero sí tenemos que escuchar y tratar de entendernos. Tratamos bien a nuestros compañeros y apoyamos a todos. Cuando hacemos daño a otra persona, pedimos disculpas y intentamos a mejorar la relación. Valoramos el tiempo que tenemos juntos y priorizamos el desarrollo de una comunidad sana y saludable.
Somos bilingües. Todos los estudiantes y maestras hacen sus mejores esfuerzos para comunicar en inglés y español. Los cerebros bilingües siempre están en acción. Nunca burlamos del acento, vocabulario, o manera de comunicar a nadie. Enfatizamos el desarrollo de las dos idiomas para todos.
Todos estamos aprendiendo. Tener clases en línea puede parecer bien diferente que tener clase en la escuela. Maestras y estudiantes tienen diferentes capacidades. Pasamos tiempo para asegurar que todos tengan la confianza de participar en las actividades en casa.
