More Information About CPS High School Admissions
Scroll to the bottom of the go.cps.edu home page to join the GoCPS email list so you can keep informed with all news and updates.
All the information you need about applying to CPS schools is available at the GoCPS website, but here are some shortcuts to information you may be looking for:
Apply to CPS high schools at Enrollwise - Use the RESET PASSWORD link instead of creating a new account. All CPS students have already been entered and your account is ready even if you haven't accessed Enrollwise before. You'll have until November 13th to apply. You can change applications up until the deadline so go ahead and check to be sure all your information is correct, begin to consider your options, and apply.
Scoring Rubric - explains how 7th grade final grades and HSAT scores add up to point total for Selective Enrollment High Schools and some Choice High School programs.
*Jones Choice programs are so popular that students living in the Jones boundary area are put into a lottery for seats. Students living outside the Jones boundary area are unlikely to get a seat. The other Selective Enrollment school with a boundary area is Hancock. If you live in the Hancock boundary area, you will have an advantage for getting a seat in one of their CTE choice programs.
HS Eligibility and Selections Criteria - a list of all CPS high schools with acceptance requirements and preference information
Understanding Ranking - guide to how students are ranked and offered seats. Numbers represent point totals based on last year's 900 maxium. Please disregard the numbers, but ranking will still work this way.
Find your tier by entering your home address in the search window of the School Search webpage. The drop down will show you your tier at the top left and the map shows schools close to your home along with neighborhood boundaries. Follow links to learn more about each school.
The GoCPS High School Resources has more details on scoring, tiers, and overlays.
