Mr. Dembowski is the substitute teacher for the rest of the year. He is substituting for Ms. Molek who is the 6th and 5th science teacher. Ms. Molek will be coming back for next year, but for the rest of the year we have Mr. Dembowski ! We did an interview with him and here's what we learned.
Interests
1. Golf
2. football
3.Singing
4. Learn about science especially animals
5. Staying hydrated
Goals for the rest of the year
1. To stay organized
2. To make sure his students learn as much science as they can.
3. To make sure his student are following school rules
Why did you want to be a teacher?
“I wanted to be a teacher because my high school science teacher made me feel
good as a student which inspired me to be a teacher so I can make student feel the
same way.”
What's your favorite science experiment
“My favorite science experiment is to watch and document animal behavior.”
What's your favorite science subject to teach?
“I love to teach life science like animals and other living organisms.”
What are you excited about in the rest of the year?
“I’m excited about doing science experiments with my students.”
We are so lucky to have Mr. Dembowski here at Beaubien with us! If you happen to see him around the building make sure you stop and say hi!
Around twice a year the school hosts dances for kids 6-8th to attend. Typically the dances are at 6:00-6:30 and last 2 hours. This year, Beaubien has already held their annual Halloween dance, and now its time for the Winter dance. On Friday, February 28th, the Winter dance took place. Students needed to turn in a signed permission slip, and $5. If paying at the door, the cost was bumped up to $7! Once the dance started the doors shut, and no one gets in or out. Kinda scary right? Well, the dance overall is the highlight of the year for most kids, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone else.

Hi. Today I will be writing about the up-coming B-Show. In case you didn’t know, the B-Show is a yearly talent show where people audition for a spot in the talent show. I will be trying to get into the B-Show myself. In order to audition for the B-Show you need to fill out a blue half sheet and a online form. The auditions will be from March 17-18 and will go to 2:45-4:30 pm. Good luck!
These are the next school activities that will be happening in Beaubien until school's out. At 5:00 pm on March 11 will be a local school council meeting. The third quarter will end on the 21st of March. Next up, March 24th-28th will be spring break. On April 1st there will be the parent-teacher conference. Then school will resume the following day. On April 25th there will be the Reality Fair for 7th & 8th Grade. The following day there will be the Spring Fling & Silent Auction. The next exciting event will be the 8th Grade Washington DC trip from May 1st-2nd, and Q4 progress reports will be given out. Staff Appreciation Week will be from May 5-9th. Then, on May 14th will be the Springfield Trip for 7th graders. On May 16th, we will have the B-Show for students and families. A little later on May 29th, there will be the 8th Grade Dinner Dance. We will then have Field Day on June 6th. Then finally it will be the Last Day of school on the 12th of June, and we’ll get our final report cards.
WARNING: This manga will be a lot about Jesus and Buddha and their journey to earth, if you are really strict about your religion or don’t want to see Jesus and Buddha together, please scroll to a dif erent book review, don’t read then say bad things about it, Thank you!!!
---------------------------
Imagine one day when Jesus and Buddha suddenly became roommates in an apartment in Tachikawa, a part of the suburbs of Tokyo. While enjoying their vacation on Earth, they had to hide their identities as normal citizens and to understand modern Japanese society. Their everyday life shows us how ordinary they are. They travel to different places, go shopping, buy groceries, play video games or even blogging. In this journey, they will face a lot of unusual situations so let’s dive into this book, it will be a long journey! Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Jesus and Buddha became roommates with each other? Then this would be a good book for you! Saint Young Men or Saint Oniisan which was supposed to originally be Saint Old Men or Saint Ojisan instead, is a manga made by Hikaru Nakamura, it is also one of the manga that made her famous. It is an amazing slice of life manga. This manga even portrayed them with personalities, like how Jesus is excited to do anything and showed how he loves everything, while Buddha is a calm person who enjoys drawing manga (back in heaven, he used sand to draw manga). This manga also has a live action show, and an anime series. If you enjoy comedy and piece of life shows, this is for you!
**Some thoughts of mine: Animators should make more than two episodes and a movie (for the anime series), I really really want some more because it has been more than ten years already and there are literally 21 volumes so I don’t see why not hehe :>**
Fun fact!
When buying the hardcover of the manga, on the first page, you’ll be greeted with a tutorial on how to read manga (Japanese styled comics) It will be really convenient for you and other people too (you just basically read from right to left!).
Today I am going to be reviewing the book Restart. It is a book about Chase Ambrose, the worst bully at Hiawassee middle school. He fell off the roof of his house, and he got amnesia. Chase used to be the football hero of Hiawassee middle school, but because of his head injury he can’t play. He joins the video club, which he and his friends used to call “dorks”. He decides he likes it, but his friends, Aron and Bear, don’t. This is a story about fresh starts and trusting your judgement.
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars because I think the author could have written more about characters other than Chase Ambrose, but other than that I recommend this book!
Long books- for long books I would recommend the Keepers of the Lost Cities series. The first book is 496 pages long and the books just keep on getting longer.
Short books- For short books I would recommend the Choose Your Own Path books. There are a lot of options, and some of the books are based after wars, while others are based on fantasy creatures .
Short comics- For short comics I would recommend “Phoebe and Her Unicorn.” Now this is more for 1st through 4th grade but hey if you want to read it when you're older we listen and we don’t judge.
Long comics- For long comics I would recommend “texting books.” These types of books are text messages written by different characters. One example is titled, “TBH, You Know What I mean,” by Lisa Greenwald. I would also recommend Click, and if you like that look for the rest of the books in that series.
Sci-fi books - For sci-fi books I would recommend Area 51 Files. It's a fun alien book that you better clear your day for because it’s going to devour you..
Horror books- I would recommend the Girl in White and Scritch Scratch. And to be honest I would recommend reading anything by Lindsay Currie if you like horror.
