Welcome EAGLES!!!
All students seeking financial aid (grants, scholarships(institutional), work-study, and/or loans MUST complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) starting October 1st. Federal and state aid are disbursed on a first-come-first-serve basis--students and parents are encouraged to submit their FAFSA application on October 1st. Finally, colleges/universities will require the submission of a FAFSA application in order to disburse institutional, federal, and/or state funds.
After having submitted the FAFSA application, a numeric number will be generated, that ranges from 0-999,999, that number is the Expected Family Contribution (EFC)--which stays consistent across the board for all colleges/universities. This number will help schools determine your financial need. That financial need can be met through the awarding of scholarships, grants, work-study, and loans. Please keep in mind that we might not agree with the EFC, but it is based on family income for 2019. To calculate an estimated EFC, please visit: fafsa4caster.org and use the EFC Estimator.
Finally, some private and public colleges will require the CSS Profile, please check the College Board Website to check if your school requires this additional financial aid application.
