lit· er· a· cy
competence or knowledge in a specified area.
Media Literacy provides a framework to access, analyze, evaluate, create and participate with messages in a variety of forms — from print to video to the Internet. Media literacy builds an understanding of the role of media in society as well as essential skills of inquiry and self-expression necessary for citizens of a democracy.
We at Libraries and Instructional Technology (LIT) understand the critical need for teachers to build their knowledge around information, media, and digital literacies now, and that need is doubled down with hybrid and simultaneous learning.
But we are here to explore the questions, problems, tools, and resources along side you- so that we can all better inform our work at Chicago Public Schools.
