Social Work

Our Social Worker employs specialized skills helping students navigate social-emotional stressors impacting academic achievement. She participates in activities to support students while responding to other needs throughout the year.

Services provided may include:

  • Group and individual services

  • Assisting with situational problems in the child’s living situation directly impacting school achievement.

  • Connecting families to advocacy and community resources

  • Assisting and developing positive behavioral intervention strategies.

Nursing

Our school Nurse works with students to help them identify and monitor triggers of health and medical concerns.

Services are provided through consultative support with teachers and parents as well as student check-ins. Our Nurse provides school-based medical support responding to students' medical concerns arising throughout the school day.



Psychological

Our school psychologist provides a variety of services to students, school staff, and parents. She is trained in assessment, childhood development, behavioral management, individual/group counseling, and consultation.

Services provided to students may include:

  • Response to Intervention

  • Academic Performance

  • Crisis Intervention

  • Behavioral Management

  • Social Skills

  • Psychoeducational Evaluations

Speech Pathology

Our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) works with students exhibiting a range of communication disorders, including language, articulation (speech sound disorders), fluency and voice/resonance adversely affecting a student’s educational performance in the school setting.

The Speech-Language Pathologist develops and implements appropriate individualized education programs. She collaborates with teachers, nurses, parents and other school disciplines involved. The SLP uses pull out, push in or consultation to deliver services.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapist works with students who have identified visual motor, fine motor, postural and/or motor needs, self-care and sensory processing deficits that significantly impact the student’s ability to participate in their educational program.

Services are provided in the student’s most natural and least restrictive environment. Services through direct and consultative services. Consultation and collaboration with the educational team are an essential component of services to assure that the recommended interventions are implemented on a daily basis.
