Student support levels are recommendations should be based on:
Universal screener scores (i-Ready, Star 360 and F & P)
Observed Classroom tasks/activities
Classroom assessments
Classroom Observations Behavior/Speech
Attendance
Student:
Has been flagged by screener data and confirmed by reviewing additional data to need Tier 2 level support
Teacher and MTSS Lead:
Creates a tier 2 level intervention plan consisting of : a common SMART goal, intervention, and progress monitoring assessment
Implements support/intervention including progress monitoring
Schedule a meeting with MTSS Lead to create an intervention plan.
Implement Tier 2 interventions and progress
monitoring for 6 weeks
Intervention sessions should be conducted one-on-one or in a small group (no more than 5 students) setting for 20 minutes 3-5 days per week.
Weekly progress monitoring must take place
Keep interventions and progress monitoring up-to- date on Branching Minds and available for the review meeting(s).
First Review Meeting
After 5 weeks of Tier 2 interventions, the team will reconvene and review all data paying close attention to the progress monitoring graph(s). The team will determine based on the data to do one of the following:
Continue Tier 2 for an additional 6 weeks (adequate progress being made)
Change intervention due to minimal progress being made
Continue with Tier 2 interventions
Refer to Tier 3 (if no progress is being made) – The team will decide the next step in the Tier 3 section
Implement Tier 2 interventions and
progress monitoring for 5 weeks
Intervention sessions should be conducted one-on-one or in a small group (no more than 5 students) setting for 20 minutes 3-5 days per week.
Weekly progress monitoring must take place
Keep interventions and progress monitoring up-to- date on Branching Minds and available for the review meeting(s).
Cumulative Review Meeting
(10-12 weeks is the maximum for Tier 2 in
any one area)
After 10-12 weeks of Tier 2 interventions, the team will reconvene and review all data paying close attention to the progress monitoring graph(s). The team will determine based on the data to do one of the following:
Refer to Tier 3 (adequate progress not made) – Go to the Tier 3 section
Adequate progress made in the current intervention area, but based on the data needs to be referred to Tier 2 in a different area
Complete baseline data in a new area, and inform the parent
Follow all Tier 2 guidelines (steps) for the new area of intervention.
