• Below this message you will find the link to all materials that I will be having my students complete for the following week.

  • Packet distribution, for those without internet or technology, is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM until 12 PM

  • Please email myself at kzerman@cps.edu to request packet pick up.

• A link to a Google Document where you will find materials and class activities is also attached below.

5th Grade Scholars,

I have been thinking about you during this challenging time and I hope you and your families are staying well. Each week you will have assignments for Math and Science. This work is there to ensure you are continuing your learning from home. I will be monitoring your progress and giving you feedback on your assignments. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or just to check in - I would love to hear from you!

Where are assignments? 5th grade math and science assignments are located on Google Classroom within your CPS (gmail) account. You each received an invite through your CPS email or you can go directly to the site: https://classroom.google.com and type in the class code: hipbivv

How can I communicate with Ms. Melton? Remind.com, email/gmail & Google Classroom

What are the expectations and instructions for submitting assignments?

• Weekly assignments will be uploaded on the first day of each week.

• The schedule is to assist students/teacher with pacing and feedback. You do not have to complete that particular assignment the day it is scheduled.

• At least 45 minutes of i-Ready minutes should be completed weekly! Students should pass 2 lessons per week.

• There will be weekly math and science assignments on Brain Pop. Students will set up their Brain Pop accounts and explore the site to learn how to use it.

• Assignments are due at the end of the week.

You can submit assignments 3 ways:

• In Google Classroom, type the answers into the private comment section on the right of your classwork page and then press the little arrow when you are done.

• Type the answers in Remind.com or your cps email/gmail and send to Mrs.Turner (rmchavis@cps.edu) for Reading & Social Studies and Ms. Melton (jemelton1@cps.edu) for Math & Science.

• Write the answers on paper, take a picture, upload the picture to Remind.com or your cps email/gmail and send to Mrs. Turner (rmchavis@cps.edu) for Reading & Social Studies and Ms. Melton (jemelton1@cps.edu) for Math & Science

Packets will be printed and distributed at Fuller on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

We will be teaching Social Emotional Learning lessons on Google Hangouts. We will work together to promote social emotional wellness during this time. We also will be available to assist you with work from your teacher's. Below you will find ways to join our classroom as well as reach us during office hours. YOU ONLY NEED TO JOIN ONE CLASSROOM PER DAY!
