Question: Do I need to take behind-the-wheel driver education?
answer: Behind-the-wheel driver education is not a requirement to graduate, you only need classroom. Taking behind-the-wheel will allow you to get your license before you turn 18, plus it will make you a better driver.
Question: Do I need to bring a car?
answer: No, we supply the vehicles
Question: Can friends or family ride with me during the lesson?
answer: No, insurance regulations only permit students enrolled in the program to drive or ride in the driver education vehicles. Parents are welcome to escort their child to the lesson but they will need to either return after the lesson to pickup their student up or wait in the parking lot for their return.
Question: What kind of car will I be driving for my lessons?
answer: Most of our fleet is made up of the Ford Focus. We also have a very nice Ford Edge which you may drive if your're lucky.
Question: What should I bring to my lessons?
answer: Your permit and shoes that are NOT Crocs, Slides, Flip-flops, or Sandals. If you wear glasses or contact lenses please wear them when driving.
Question: Who will I be driving with?
answer: You will be driving with one or two other students and a CPS teacher. The other students can be from any of the schools we serve; Roosevelt, Disney II, Rickover, Schurz, or Von Steuben. Our teaches are from several area CPS schools.
Question: Who will my instructor be?
answer: Our instructors are state-certified, regular CPS teachers who have undergone additional training in safety and driver education. Most have many years of experience in helping students become safe drivers.
