FALL Semester Events
ODLSS Student Transition Fair on January 23 and 24 is an opportunity for CPS high school students with disabilities to increase their postsecondary knowledge options and support them in preparing for life after high school. After the student event, families of students with disabilities are invited to the evening Parent Transition Fair to learn about community agencies, post-secondary pathways workshops, and more.
Bridges from School to Work representatives work with 12th graders on applying for entry-level employment.
ACCESS Living Fast Track representatives work with Schurz students on resume writing, interviewing, and applying for employment.

SPRING Semester Events
Bridges from School to Work representatives work with students on employment skills (resume writing, interview process, and applying for employment) during Job Club in the Spring semester.

Special Olympics takes place during the Spring Semester. This event allows students with intellectual or cognitive delays to participate in fun, competitive athletic events and sports. Students interested in training and participating in events can contact Samantha Williams at skwilliams8@cps.edu
Illinois Disability State ID Event takes place in the second semester. Please see the flyer for more information about the documents you need to apply for a Disability State ID. Students interested can contact Laura Cota at LCota@cps.edu for an application.
Post-Secondary Thursday events!
Post-Secondary Thursdays is a twice-monthly virtual event hosted by the ODLSS Transition Services Team for CPS staff and students with IEPs aged 14-22. Each event will highlight a different non-degree training program in Chicago, i.e. cosmetology, technology, digital marketing, etc., and the disability services that the program offers.

The City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) Access Center Orientation field trip takes place in June. Recently graduated students interested in CCC can explore programs, receive support with the admission process, make an appointment to discuss accommodations, tour the campus, and meet other college freshmen during this trip. Students who participate in the event receive a $250 scholarship!
