Chicago Farm Lab relies on your continued support to help ensure food security, healthy living, environmental awareness, and growing a neighborhood through community gardening
Our goal is to advance community gardening on the northwest side of Chicago
We need funding for our annual startup costs, irrigation, farm maintenance, community programming, and winterization. This fund will also give us the purchasing power of materials, soil, seeds, plants, and tools, in addition to paying for professional contractors and mentoring support.
Farm Lab
Food Forest Project
Food Forests are a low-maintenance, sustainable, plant-based food production and agroforestry system based on woodland ecosystems, incorporating fruit and nut trees, shrubs, herbs, vines and perennial vegetables.
This horticulture technique utilizes decaying wood debris and compostable plant materials to create a raised bed which mimics how nature recycles organic materials.
This will help to improve soil fertility, water retention, and soil warming, ultimately benefiting plants grown on and around the raised mounds.
Chicago Farm Lab will work with local students and community on this permanent agricultural project to bring new life and food security into the Hanson Park neighborhood.
We need your support for this earth changing project. We are looking to raise $20,000 to fund the purchase of trees, shrubs, plants, and earth moving tools to make this long-term sustainable School community project possible.
Farm Lab
Mural and Signage Project
Our goals are to beautify our neighborhood and create a mural with our garden’s cultural identity.
By displaying art in public places and making it accessible to everyone, it inspires the feeling of belonging in our community
We depend on the generosity of people like you. Your donation will ensure that we continue to provide the resources that will help student artists and community volunteers to achieve their creative goals.
We need your support for this School Garden Community mural project. We are looking to raise $10,000 to fund the purchase of paint, supplies, and materials to contribute to our permanent community Signs and public art projects.
