Conflict Resolution

Conflict is a natural part of life, and teaching children how to navigate it effectively is a crucial skill for their development. For the past 5 years, our school has partnered with The Peace Exchange to offer conflict resolution lessons to our 5th - 8th grade students at Chavez Upper Grade Center.  In 2024, The Peace Exchange has taken action to support Chavez parents by providing a workshop designed to equip parents with practical strategies and insights to support their children in building strong conflict resolution abilities. From active listening techniques to fostering empathy and teaching negotiation skills, this session aimed to empower parents with the tools needed to guide their children through conflicts in a constructive and positive manner.

Our school is thankful to Henry, from The Peace Exchange for taking the time to present this interactive workshop where parents explored various approaches to nurturing healthy conflict resolution skills, fostering stronger relationships, and promoting resilience in our children. Henry's insights and expertise were invaluable in helping our families navigate through challenging situations and fostering communication and understanding.
