My name is Angel Rivera. I have been teaching Kindergarten at Canty School for the past 24 years. I taught first grade for 9 years prior to coming to Canty. I was of born and raised in Chicago and attended CPS schools my entire life. I am a proud graduate of Lane Technical High School (Class of 1981). I am also a resident of this community for the past 24 years. My wife and I are celebrating 24 years of marriage this summer. We have two daughters that also attended Canty. Our oldest will be starting her 2nd year of college and our youngest will be a junior this fall. Teaching at Canty Elementary is an honor and I look forward to working with our new families this fall.

My name is Joan Todde. I have been teaching for 26 years. 16 of those years, I have had the privilege of teaching 2nd grade and Kindergarten at Canty School. Kindergarten is my love and passion and each year I am amazed watching my students grow and learn. Previous to coming to Canty, I taught Early Childhood Special Education in the suburbs. I grew up in the suburbs, but have lived in the Canty neighborhood for 25 years. My husband and I have 3 children ages 25, 24 and 19. All attended Canty School. Currently all my children reside in Arizona. My daughter attends University of Arizona. I am looking forward to meeting a new class and getting to know them and their families!
