Milagros Lam is our very proud cheer coach at APC! This is her eighth year at APMA, but she's been teaching in Chicago Public Schools for fifteen wonderful years. Over the course of her career, she's taught every grade from kindergarten to eighth grade, and she's had the privilege of working in schools across Chicago’s north, west, and south sides.

Before becoming a CPS teacher, She was a CPS student and attended Peirce Elementary for elementary school, Lincoln Elementary for middle school, and Northside College Prep for high school.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University, with certifications in Language Arts, Social Studies, and ESL. Currently, she's pursuing her M.Ed. in Teaching English Learners, a journey that continues to deepen her passion for education.

She became a teacher because she truly believes every CPS student deserves an outstanding education in the public school setting. As a proud CPS graduate, she was inspired by incredible teachers who challenged her to reach her fullest potential. Now, she's committed to giving her students the same encouragement and support.

Outside of school, she lives in Roscoe Village with her husband and their two adorable dogs, Gracie and Lucky. They love to travel whenever they can, exploring new places and creating lasting memories.

She looks forward to another amazing year with our APC community!
