CPP High School Mixed Chorus

"Mixed Chorus Virtual Choir Video" The CPP High School Mixed Chorus proudly presents "And Miles to Go Before I Sleep," in Virtual Choir format.

Students and staff have been working on this project since November, 2020. Some of the students recorded themselves at home, and some recorded themselves at school, in specially designed "Socially Isolated" booths temporarily set up for this project. Students recorded themselves singing while watching a conducting video, and piano accompaniment provided by Amy Ginalski, then submitted the recordings to a shared google drive where David Smith edited and mixed them using "Final Cut Pro" Software. This Virtual Choir selection is only one of several choral pieces covered during year, however this particular piece lends itself to the virtual environment nicely, and gives parents a chance to hear their child perform even during these challenging times. [A fun fact: The number of hours needed to accomplish just one virtual choir selection can be roughly determined by multiplying the number of video submissions by the number of minutes, by 1.75.] In this case, the hours involved in creating this project is over 300 hours. This selection features the famous poem of Robert Frost, set to the music of Michael Ryan.
