Three trials were held today, and although the final verdict will be handed down tomorrow, one of the three defendants today, Alfred Jodl, was sentenced on charges of crimes against humanity, murder, mass extermination, conspiracy crimes, with a sentence handed down by the prosecution in which they asked for life imprisonment or the death penalty.
Then, in the case of Rudolf Hess, after an exhaustive interrogation and a long presentation of evidence, the accused together with his lawyer declared that Hess was not fit to answer any questions because he had mental problems (schizophrenic psychopath) and therefore, he will not be tried as a normal defendant, his sentence is still under discussion among the prosecution.
Finally in the last case of day 1, that of Hermann Göring, Göring's lawyer declared in court that "he did not defend Nazis" and therefore the defendant used his right not to use the representation of his lawyer and so defended himself, finally, on a point of order Herman Göring was taken out of court for a while.
