My name is Brittany Hammonds and I am the Chemistry, Physical Science, and Psychology/ Sociology teacher here at CHS. This is my first year teaching so far, but I am definitely no stranger to the Christopher area and school district. This is because I have lived in Christopher my entire life and I myself was a student at Christopher all the way through K-12th grade. I have also been a substitute teacher at both CES and CHS for over two and a half years before I became a teacher.

In terms of my education, after graduating from CHS I began attending SIU-C in order to obtain my bachelors degree in biological sciences with a focus in pre-medicine, and along the way I also received minors in chemistry and psychology. After graduating in 2016, I began substitute teaching and made the decision to begin pursuing a career in teaching once I realized that I loved being in a high school teaching science. For this reason, I began attending McKendree University in order to obtain my Master of Arts in Teaching. After two long years of subbing by day and going to class by night I was able to graduate with my Master's degree in 2019 and begin teaching at CHS this fall.

I am so happy to be teaching everyone here at CHS this year and if anyone needs to reach me feel free to contact me in person at school or through e-mail or phone.
