In terms of my education, after graduating from CHS I began attending SIU-C in order to obtain my bachelors degree in biological sciences with a focus in pre-medicine, and along the way I also received minors in chemistry and psychology. After graduating in 2016, I began substitute teaching and made the decision to begin pursuing a career in teaching once I realized that I loved being in a high school teaching science. For this reason, I began attending McKendree University in order to obtain my Master of Arts in Teaching. After two long years of subbing by day and going to class by night I was able to graduate with my Master's degree in 2019 and begin teaching at CHS this fall.
