Procedures may be subject to change based on situations.

The only rule the classroom has is to be respectful and responsible. Every situation that happens can usually be redirected back to the questions: Is this considered respectful to myself or to others? Am I being responsible right now?

Are You scholars ready for the day?

After being greeted in the morning, come in and unpack your items needed for the day and place your items in their designated areas.

  1. If any papers need to be turned in to Mrs. Moore, please do so at this time.
  2. Sharpen your pencils needed to start your day
  3. Find your seat and read the board as all morning instructions will be written
  4. Begin your morning work to get your brain a jump start for all of the

new information it will have to find storage for.

5. Please be respectful of others when you complete your morning work as others are still working,

You may sneak off to a different world and read until the class is ready to begin.

Lining Up

When directions are given and it is time to line up; we need to remember to be respectful of others and their things.

  1. Stand carefully and quietly- in the case of an emergency it is important that we are able to hear.
  2. Push your chair under the table so that others are able to get by.
  3. Walk to the line- we should make sure there is space between you and others.
  4. When walking to designated areas we need to remain quiet so we do not disturb other classrooms
  5. Say and arms length away from the walls, face the front of the line, and keep hands to yourself
  6. Walk on the right side so others can walk in the halls as well

Bathroom Breaks

Bathroom breaks are given many times daily as a group. Students are asked to try and use the restroom when we go as a group to eliminate distractions in the classroom or students missing vital information.

  1. Lining up rules apply
  2. No more students in the restroom than the number of stalls
  3. When one student comes out another student enters.
  4. We must remain quiet in the restroom as other classrooms are working.

Signals

The universal sign for the school to get the students attention is if they see any faculty raise their hand that is to show that students need to raise theirs and remain quiet while awaiting instructions. In the classrooms we create a fun saying monthly to use. Such as Hocus Pocus-Everybody focus, Ho Ho H0- Hot Cocoa etc.

Snack and Lunch

Snacks and lunch will be served inside the classroom.

  1. Students will have jobs to help prepare for this time (Ex. Table washers, handing out hotbox etc)
  2. After all jobs are completed and students are in their seats we will begin eating at the same time.
  3. I ask that students remain quiet the first ten minutes of lunch to allow proper eating time, then they are able to talk the remainder of lunch.
  4. Students are held responsible in making sure their desk and floor area stay clean.
  5. At the end of lunch students will be called by table to throw items in the trash as well as time to get their area back in order and prepared for our next lesson.

Unfinished Work

Any unfinished work can be placed in their folder and completed during WIN time or if time allows throughout the day.

Communication to Parents

I communicate via dojo throughout the day. I try to check first thing in the morning as well as my planning time and before leaving. On Thursdays the take home folders will be sent home with information from the school if applicable as well as any communication from me and graded work. Grades are also placed in powerschool on a weekly basis.

Emergency Drills

Students are asked to take these drills seriously. Lining up procedures will be used and students are to remain quiet and wait for instructions on what to do next.

Dismissal

Students will be dismissed by tables to put all materials away and gather their items for dismissal. During dismissal students can work on unfinished work or read. All students need to have everything ready so that when their names are called they are able to get out quickly to ensure the car rider line moves smoothly.
