School Closure Info

CPCS will be closed until May 15th per Gov. Cooper.

Below are resources for at home learning.

As more information is given, I will update you via this page, ClassDojo, and email.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. I will be available via phone, email, and ClassDojo between 10am-11:30am everyday for questions or concerns.

As we all maneuver through these next few weeks, we have compiled learning opportunities for students while at home. Items with a star should be your first resource points.

It is a daily expectation that students will read at least 30 mins. Please send me a daily dojo message with a picture of your child reading and fill out a daily reading log that you will take a picture of and send to me. Click here to print out a reading log. If you cannot print it out, you can write it on a sheet of notebook paper. Please send me a picture each day of your reading log.

Thanks for your support as we continue to make sure your child has a successful year.

At Home Learning Opportunities:

Non-online options:

  • Make games out of tricky words or math facts (ie, word hunt, flash card memory games)
  • Write a story and tell it to your family.
  • Write an informational paper on something you know a lot about (about two to three sentences).
  • Measure 5 things in your home. Sort those things biggest to smallest or smallest to biggest.
  • Math facts flashcards (ie. addition and subtraction within 20).
  • Compile a spelling list of words from the past that your child has missed on previous spelling tests. Have your child practice and study for the week and give them a spelling test at the end of the week.

For Music:

If you would like your child to continue with studying music, Mr. Hahn will be updating his website frequently to include lessons that students can do during the week. You can visit the site here.
