Hello!

My name is Krystal Rycroft and I have the pleasure of teaching visual art to the students of the Colton-Pierrepont Central School. I originally completed my student teaching in district and have always hoped the universe would guide me back to this very position. One might imagine how ecstatic I am to be here!

A challenging, yet entertaining, curriculum is provided for each and every student. Most projects start with an art history topic paired with guided notes before the art-making begins. I genuinely believe that every child is an artist which is why every single project is displayed in our halls (and now on this website). All that I ask is for students to remain open to new ideas, never give up, and keep a positive attitude.

Every art teacher is secretly a hoarder and I am no different. Something unique about my teaching style- I keep all work hostage until the end of the school year. There is always a method to my madness, don't worry! At the end of the year, all my students will transform their folders into a portfolio and review their entire body of work. It is my hopes that they will recall previously learned information while seeing personal growth. Until then, this website will serve as a way for all to see our past and current creations.
