With the advent of the big data era, computer science's importance has increased. At the same time, there is a growing need for initiatives that span system hierarchies such as digital circuits, semiconductor integrated circuits, computer architecture, system software, and applications, as well as for the promotion of international collaborative research. Against this backdrop, we are pleased to invite two Chief Guest Speakers from the IEEE Computer Society to hold a technical discussion meeting.
[Registration (Deadline: May 19th, 2025, JST)]

【Program (JST)】
13:00 - 13:30 Registration
13:30 - 13:40 Opening Remarks, Nobuo Aoki, IEEE Computer Society R10 Northern Area Coordinator for 2025, IEEE Computer Society Student Ambassadors
13:40 - 14:20 Pre and Early Career Professional Development, George Proeller, Vice-Chair for CS MGA Board
My Professional Development Presentation is focused on the professional life cycle of the student during the periods of their transition from the world of academia to beginning professional (whether in continued higher level academia or industry) to early professional (again whether in continued even higher level academia or industry) and thought concepts/methods to prepare for success throughout and beyond those transitional periods.
14:20 - 14:30 Break
14:30 - 15:10 Data Analytics in Smart Farming for Sustainable Agriculture, Mohamed Rawidean, Regional Coordinator for CS R10
Data analytics is becoming immensely important in the field of smart farming to improve farming efficiency, provide accurate real time estimates and thereby increase yields. Data analytics plays a crucial role in smart farming as it helps farmers to make informed decisions based on real-time data collected from sensors, drones, satellites, and other sources. These data need a to be analyzed to provide scientific insights about crop growth, soil health, weather patterns, and other factors affecting agricultural production. Data analytics can be used to optimize resource allocation, such as water usage, to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact. The use of data analytics in smart farming has the potential to revolutionize the way we produce food, efficient, and resilient in the face of climate change and other challenges. This paper will discuss a case study, the challenges associated with data collection and analysis in sustainable agriculture including issues related to data quality, privacy, and security.
15:10 - 15:40 Research and Educational Activity for Computer Science in Fukuoka, Koji Inoue, Chair of IEEE Computer Society Fukuoka Chapter, Vice Director of Fukuoka Semiconductor Reskilling Center
This talk has two main parts. First, we discuss an outstanding Computer Architecture research activity at Kyushu University, i.e., a next-generation superconductor computing that can operate at speeds of more than 50 GHz. This talk briefly summarizes our research publications in MICRO’20, ISCA’22, ISCA’23, MICRO’24, and IEEE Micro Top Picks. Next, we share the human development activity in Fukuoka, from semiconductor manufacturing and circuit design to software, application, and system designs, provided by the Fukuoka Semiconductor Reskilling Center. Then, we discuss the potential in Fukuoka and the Kyushu area in terms of the Computer Society!
15:40 - 16:00 Break (move to 4F)
16:00 - 16:55 Networking (In-person, i.e., Zoom is not serviced) Some food and drink will be provided, please join!
16:55 - 17:00 Closing Remarks
