COURSE TITLE: Geometry
Grade Level: 9-12
Length: One Year
Credit: 5 per semester
Prerequisite: Passed Algebra I
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Geometry is an elective class open to 9-12 students. The course is designed with the college-bound student in mind. This course provides an in-depth study of Plane Geometry. Students will study and be exposed to properties of basic figures, reasoning, and proofs, parallel and perpendicular lines, congruent and similar triangles, right triangles, trigonometry, quadrilaterals, transformations, circles, length, area, and volume. The prerequisite for this class is passing and completing Algebra I, preferably with a C or Higher.
Recommended Materials:
Notebook for Notes that will be used all year
Pencils
A calculator that can do the trig functions (sin, cos, and tan)
A protractor and compass set. (Amazon has nice sets for $10 or so)
Be sure to add yourself to the class you are in
