Note-taking is essential for studying and staying organized, but not every method works for everyone. While many students are taught Cornell notes, I’ve found that it doesn’t fit every course or learning style. That’s where note-taking apps come in, they help personalize and organize ideas in ways that work best for each individual.
I’ve realized that you don’t have to stick to just one app. Combining tools can create a workflow that’s even more effective. My advice? Set up templates and a system that saves time and keeps everything consistent. It’s all about finding what works best for you!
AI tools like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot are transforming how we collaborate and handle complex tasks. These tools act as smart partners, helping brainstorm ideas, refine content, and analyze data. Whether drafting documents in Google Workspace, creating presentations in Microsoft Office, or holding a natural conversation with ChatGPT for creative problem-solving, AI provides real-time feedback and support. By working with AI, we can simplify complicated tasks and focus our energy on what matters most.
Engage in human-like conversations to generate ideas, refine concepts, and explore possibilities.
Collaborate with AI to outline essays, create presentations, or draft project plans.
Work through challenges by discussing solutions and receiving suggestions in real-time.
Use AI for inspiration in storytelling, design, or project innovations.
Gemini helps expand ideas, refine content, and suggest headings or summaries.
Provide a dataset and Gemini can identify trends, suggest formulas, and create visuals.
Provide the main content, and Gemini designs layouts, suggests images, and drafts speaker notes.
Gemini offers instant feedback, grammar fixes, and content suggestions as you work in shared documents.
Copilot refines drafts, suggests ideas, and generates summaries to enhance your writing.
Provide a dataset and Copilot identifies patterns, suggests formulas, and creates visual reports.
Provide key points, and Copilot designs slides, adds visuals, and generates speaker notes.
Copilot summarizes chats, drafts responses, and creates action plans from meeting discussions.
Collaborate seamlessly as Copilot offers instant feedback and suggestions directly within Microsoft tools.
Artifical intelligence can really improve the workflow of both the teacher and the student if used correctly. This is a new tool that will require training to gain the most out of it. A few things to consider would be the following:
Prompt engineering, many think that this will solve all your problems and do the work for you but that is much more far than the truth. Prompt engineering is what allows you to guide the large language model (LLM) on getting the results that you like.
Contextual Understanding always provides the LLM with sufficient context to avoid misunderstanding. Also, make sure to correct it if you notice that it is confusing. The way I use these tools is more collaborative, I treat the tool not as a robot or computer but more like a person, a coworker.
Model Selection, choose the model that is suited best for your specific needs. Going back to ChatGPT, that is why it's my preferred model because of custom GPT I can build something personalized to one task that I need it to help me with. However, there are some specific LLM that are specialized in programming, imaging generating, etc.
If you follow these couple of things this will help you get the best results when using these tools and technology.
