Meet Our Band Director

Serving as the band director, Ms. Farmer is super excited to be joining the Newnan and SRMS community! She grew up in Milledgeville, GA and graduated from Baldwin High School in 2018. After high school, she headed to the University of West Georgia where she earned her degree in Music Education and got to play in just about every band you can think of — Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Marching Band, you name it! She even served as drum major and principal flutist in several of them. Before moving to Newnan, Ms. Farmer spent 3 years teaching high school band in Columbus. Now, she's ready to bring her love for music to her new students and make some great memories together. When she’s not in the band room, Ms. Farmer loves playing her flute, hanging out with her two dogs (Archer and Link), and spending time with her significant other, "Mr. Berry", who teaches music over at Atkinson Elementary! Ms. Farmer is so excited to share her love for music and band at Smokey Road!
