Course Description: World history is a college-preparatory class intended to satisfy the high school requirement of World History credit. This course covers the history of the world from approximately 3100 BCE to the present. The object of this course is for students to achieve an understanding of political, social, religious, military and economic factors that shaped the modern world. This course will employ a variety of instructional methods designed to promote the use of critical thinking skills. These methods will include, but not be limited to lecture, group work, reading comprehension, comparative analysis, synthesis of knowledge, and memory recall.
Course Description: The high school United States History course provides students with a comprehensive, intensive study of major events and themes in United States history. Beginning with early European colonization, the course examines the development of United States history. The course concludes with significant developments of the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
