iPad Guidelines for Students and Parents - Ninth District Elementary
This document provides detailed information to parents and students about how to care for the technology being entrusted to them.
Receiving an iPad
Student Signature
Students will sign a form accepting an iPad, and by signing, agree to the terms for use at Ninth District Elementary School. The iPads will stay at school, and will only be allowed to go home (unless in the event of a school closure).
Student Distribution
iPads will be assigned to students in each homeroom.
Each student will be assigned a specific number/serial number. They will be responsible for this device until it is turned in at the end of the school year.
This device will also follow them year to year (K-5).
Returning the iPad
End of Year
At the end of the school year, students will make sure the iPad is replaced in the homeroom cart.
The homeroom teacher will take inventory on all devices turned in and make necessary reports regarding damage to the STC (School Technology Coordinator).
The STC/Administration will make contact with parents regarding damage.
Transferring/Withdrawing Students
Students that transfer out of or withdraw from Ninth District must turn in their iPads to the assigned homeroom teacher. Failure to turn in the iPad will result in the student being charged the full replacement cost for each missing asset. Ninth District may also file a report of stolen property with the local law enforcement agency.
Taking Care of the iPad
Students are responsible for the general care of the iPad they have been issued by the school. Students with iPads that are broken or fail to work properly must inform their teacher so that it can be documented so that the STC can be informed so that they can be taken care of properly.
All iPads are the property of the Covington Independent Public Schools/Ninth District Elementary and as such may be inspected at any time.
Ninth District Elementary will not be liable for any damage to personal property (headphones).
