World Language Honor Society

The purpose of Coventry High School's World Language Honor Society is to stimulate interest in the study of Italian and Spanish, give recognition and scholarship for achievement in Italian, and Spanish and to promote a deep understanding and appreciation of such cultures.

Requirements for induction:

• Students must have had an 4.25 or better cumulative gpa after the third quarter of level 3.  Students must be enrolled in a level 3 honors course or higher to be considered eligible. 

• Students must complete a minimum of one cultural or linguistic lesson in one of the district's elementary schools during Early Release or after the high school day.

• Students must maintain academic integrity in all years of World Language.  If a student is caught being dishonest academically, he/she will not qualify for World Language Honor Society.  Examples of academic dishonesty include, but are not limited to, copying the work of another student, using online translation services to produce work in the target language or to translate text into English, cheating on a quiz, test, or Proficiency-Based Assessments, cheating on the AAPPL test for the Seal of Biliteracy.
