New Teacher Center’s proven teacher induction model is a program of weekly on-the-job mentoring for new teachers by an accomplished, well-prepared peer. This approach results in remarkably effective new teachers, increased overall teacher retention, improved student achievement and reduced district teacher recruiting costs. Coventry follows the RIDE adopted NTC model, which includes a full release coach, who has the flexibility to meet with teachers and utilize Formative Assessment Tools to foster reflective practice.
