Additional Resources:

Moms in Motion can be a great resource for assisting parents who have special needs children obtain a variety of screenings and are also very collaborative about helping connect moms to resources outside of their group. Their local team could probably give a presentation to your administration. https://momsinmotion.net/resources-general/resources-early-intervention/

Talk to your Pediatrician about the identified child and related behaviors. The pediatrician can sometimes do certain screening or can refer the child/family out to a specific professional regarding what screenings are needed (A local Neurologist, Psychiatrist, Psychologist, or a Licensed Professional Counselor).

You would be surprised, but Insurance Companies can be very helpful if you call and consult with them. Most people think of insurance regarding medical but not the emotional/mental/behavioral stuff. Contacting an insurance company can be a great resource as they usually have a behavioral health department who can guide the parents into specific treatment/screening options (they are incentivized to help for legal reasons and the financial aspect of early intervention saving them money in the long run) . The added benefit of a parent contacting an insurance company is that the insurance company can give a specific list of providers who are in the insurance network so the parent can assured that the screening will be covered.

The Local Community Service Board can also be a great resource for educating parents on different treatment/screening options.
