Free Webinar on: Affirming Students in Identity-Safe Classrooms
Students flourish when their social identities, including race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation, are affirmed and valued as assets rather than barriers to learning. Research on identity safe teaching demonstrated that when diversity is cultivated as a resource for learning, students feel identity safe, like school more, and achieve at higher levels. Further, the study provided evidence that all students benefit from embracing diversity and practicing empathy and acceptance.
Setting Up Libraries to Be the Best Space in School
We took a peek inside school libraries across America to see how librarians are reframing the space to support students’ social, emotional, and creative growth—while still prioritizing excellent reads.

Just a reminder of some of the services that the IMC offers for sites:
We have a color copier that is available for sites to use. Sizes range from letter (8.5" x 11"), legal (8.5" x 14"), to ledger (11" x 17"). We ask that when teachers/staff come to the IMC to print, that they bring their own paper. Given sufficient time, files can be emailed to Gregory Frotton (gfrotton@cousd.net) for printing as time is available. We ask that the site replace paper used for these print jobs.
Educational Services has a wide-format printer in the IMC. This printer can print ARCH C (18" x 24") and ARCH D (24" x 36"). Use of this machine can be scheduled through Educational Services, Diana Adames (dadames@cousd.net).
