Le dessin animé en 3D "Casper le petit fantôme visite la lune", réalisé par Famous Studios sous le contrôle de Paramount, était un exploit technique en 1953. Habituellement, les dessins animés prenaient plusieurs années à sortir, mais avec un financement généreux, la production de Casper et Popeye en 3D a été accélérée. Le budget pour ces deux dessins animés a dépassé les 70 000$ chacun, ce qui a permis de créer des décors lunaires grandioses et des effets spéciaux impressionnants. Bien que destiné principalement à un public d'enfants, la profondeur et l'étendue de la 3D dans ce dessin animé en font un divertissement apprécié par un large public.

The 3D cartoon "Casper the Ghost Boy Visits the Moon", produced by Famous Studios under the control of Paramount, was a technical achievement in 1953. Usually, cartoons took several years to release, but with generous funding, the production of Casper and Popeye in 3D was accelerated. The budget for both cartoons exceeded $70,000 each, allowing for grandiose lunar sets and impressive special effects. Although intended primarily for a children's audience, the depth and breadth of the 3D in this cartoon makes it an entertainment enjoyed by a wide audience.

"Doom Town" is a fictional documentary about the American nuclear tests of the early 1950s, directed by Lee Savin. Shot in 3D with the Dunning process, it records the devastating effects of an atomic explosion at Yucca Flats, Nevada. Censored and lost for decades, the negatives were discovered and recovered by the Film Archive 3-D in 1985. In 2003, Peter Kuran recreated the missing part of the atomic explosions using real 3-D images. "Doom Town" is a prescient social statement and a remarkable example of 3-D filmmaking ahead of its time.
