Le monde est ébloui par les progrès réalisés grâce au « Jude » l’AI qu'il a développé. Cependant, le Dr Yoon n'est pas satisfait. Pour lui, une véritable IA est une IA dotée d'émotions, une authentique IA humaine. Il mène donc ses recherches en secret, à l'insu de tous. Le Dr Yoon crée une nouvelle IA dans un utérus artificiel, la rendant indiscernable des vrais humains, et induit ainsi des émotions chez « Jude ».
