Shot entirely from an apartment on the 36th floor of a high-rise building, the images in this experimental stereoscopic animation survey large parts of Hong Kong’s cityscape, drawing attention to the individual lives hidden inside its buildings. Initially recorded in 2020 and completed in 2023, 二〇二〇 attempts to encapsulate the darkness, confinement, and uncertainty of the year 2020.

Entièrement tournées depuis un appartement situé au 36e étage d'une tour d'habitation, les images de cette animation stéréoscopique expérimentale arpentent de grandes parties du paysage urbain de Hong Kong, attirant l'attention sur les vies individuelles cachées à l'intérieur de ses bâtiments. Enregistré initialement en 2020 et achevé en 2023, 二〇二〇 tente de résumer l'obscurité, l'enfermement et l'incertitude de l'année 2020.

Dix ans après avoir réalisé ma première série de vidéos japonaises, j'ai ressenti le besoin de revisiter cette expérience. J'étais curieux de voir comment ma compréhension des différentes régions du Japon avait évolué au fil du temps. Coïncidence intéressante, l'iPhone 15 permet désormais de filmer en 4K 3D. J'ai donc saisi l'occasion pour capturer cette nouvelle série en exploitant cette technologie. Pour profiter pleinement de l'expérience, je recommande vivement de visionner ces vidéos avec un casque.

Ten years after making my first series of Japanese videos, I felt the need to revisit that experience. I was curious to see how my understanding of the different regions of Japan had evolved over time. Interestingly, the iPhone 15 now allows you to shoot in 4K 3D. So I took the opportunity to capture this new series using this technology. To get the full experience, I strongly recommend watching these videos with headphones.

"Die Buben im Pelz - Die Wüdn" is a mixture of documentary and music video, in stereoscopic 3D. Shown is the moment of shooting 3D photos for the music band "Die Buben im Pelz" from Vienna, Austria. We see the 3D-photographer interacting with the band, as they walk along a Vienese park. We also see the finished 3D photos, which were to be printed as a Viewmaster reel. The soundtrack is the song "Die Wüdn" (Vienese for "The Wild Ones"), which is a very free approach to the song "Take a Walk on The Wild Side" by Lou Reed. They transformed the english lyrics into the unique German dialect that is spoken in the town of Vienna.

« Die Buben im Pelz - Die Wüdn » est un mélange de documentaire et de vidéo clip, en 3D stéréoscopique. Le groupe de musique « Die Buben im Pelz » de Vienne, en Autriche est filmé en 3D, et le montage est agrémenté de photographe 3D iqui devaient être imprimées sous forme de bobine Viewmaster. La bande sonore est la chanson « Die Wüdn » (en viennois, « Les Sauvages »), qui est une approche très libre de la chanson « Take a Walk on The Wild Side » de Lou Reed.
