We had another great week in third grade! In Math, we practiced addition and subtraction and looked for patterns when adding even and odd numbers. In ELA and Social Studies, we learned about Ruby Bridges and discussed her heroic impact on education. We also began writing and sharing the beginnings of our constellation stories, focusing on strong openings and creative ideas. Our Combo Crew created powerful “Walk for Justice” posters to show what standing up for fairness means to us, and we’re excited to make our signs next week in preparation for our walk! We wrapped up the week with a fun game of Spelling Baseball to prepare for our spelling test.

ELA: This week in Holes, we reached a big turning point in the story! Students really got into character as they wrote letters to Mrs. Yelnats, sharing their thoughts (and some creative complaints!) about life at Camp Green Lake.
Math: We dug into prime and composite numbers and kicked off our new math adventure — Juju’s Curse! It’s a pirate-themed RPG where students work together to solve challenges, break the curse, and find hidden treasure.

We still have not received several bags of emergency food, and we need it as soon as possible. Please be sure to send in your child's emergency food right away so we can have them on hand in case of an emergency.
