Dodgers Den Week Overview:
What an exciting week it was as we celebrated Open House! Students spent the week putting the finishing touches on their projects, writing pieces, and classroom displays, showing incredible effort and pride in their work. It was wonderful to connect with families during Open House and celebrate each child’s growth, creativity, and success throughout the year. Thank you for your continued support and for helping make the evening so special for our students!

Curriculum Snapshot:
Students were introduced to volume with linking cubes by learning how to count cubic units and understand how volume measures the amount of space an object takes up. We also began exploring probability through engaging activities such as wheel spinners and virtual marble jar pulls to predict outcomes and discuss likelihood. Students enjoyed practicing their skills through a variety of fun virtual math games that reinforced our learning in an interactive way.
Curriculum Snapshot:
In ELA, students put the finishing touches on their Open House writing pieces, including detailed illustrations to accompany their work. We also continued reading Ways to Grow Love and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and we are now approaching the end of both novels. Along with our reading and writing work, students continued building their spelling skills through regular spelling practice and activities throughout the week.
Curriculum Snapshot:
In Science, students completed their beautiful shoebox solar system dioramas, with each child bringing their own unique creativity and imagination to the project. Students also enjoyed reviewing important concepts about the solar system through engaging class activities and discussions.
Curriculum Snapshot:
During our 4 Pillars of Wellbeing time, students have been learning how to become “self-scientists,” meaning they observe, reflect on, and learn about their own thoughts, feelings, and reactions. As part of this work, students completed a “My Curious Mind” activity, where they are identifying the things in their lives they are curious about. Through discussions and activities, students are practicing noticing how they feel in different situations. It has been wonderful to see them thoughtfully exploring how they can better understand themselves.
