Don't forget to bring in a small jar by Wednesday, Nov 12th!
This week during ELA, we practiced our letters of the week O, V, and E, had reading groups, and wrote in our journals. In Math, we practiced one less of teen numbers. We practiced this concept by playing board games, making our own number line, and completing a walk around the room.
We will likely spend one more week with sight word list #2. Please practice the following sight words at home:

This week in science, our students learned about hibernation, migration, and adaptation. We discussed different animals and how they survive during seasonal changes. For our activity, students completed a cut-and-glue activity sheet where they sorted animals into the correct category: adapt, hibernate, or migrate.
Did you know that we all live on the back of a turtle? In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, we learned about the legend of Turtle Island and how the continent of North America came to be. We created our own turtle art inspired by 19th century pointillism paintings.
For challenge time, we watched a short video learning about the different parts of a turkey, how turkeys communicate, and how male and female turkeys are different! Afterwards, everyone created their own turkey!
For those who have not yet done so, please bring in your child’s supplies, emergency kit, and extra clothes.
