This week during ELA, we practiced our letters of the week P and N, built sight words with beads and Legos, and read our very first book! In Math, we practiced one more of a number by playing feed the monster, completing a walk the room, and partner games.
Please practice the following sight words at home:

During social studies, we learned about the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, and how it is celebrated in Chinese culture. To celebrate, we made a craft to show Chang'e's shadow on the moon.
This week in science, we learned about animal shelter and safety. Students discovered how animals stay safe and how their bodies help protect them. We also talked about where different animals live. For our activity, students went outside and built their own bird nest using sticks, leaves, and rocks to show where birds live and how they keep their eggs safe.
For those who have not yet done so, please bring in your child’s supplies, emergency kit, and extra clothes.
