It is hard to believe that there are only four days of school left! We have been working hard and making the most of our final weeks together. Here are some highlights from this past week.
As we head into our final four days together, we are looking forward to celebrating all of the learning, growth, friendships, and memories we have made throughout the year. We are so proud of everything the students have accomplished and are excited to finish the year strong.
Reminder: Our class party will be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We are looking forward to a fun celebration together as we wrap up an amazing year!
Curriculum Snapshot:
In Math, students explored solid figures and learned how to identify and describe their key attributes, including faces, edges, and vertices. Through hands-on activities and discussions, they strengthened their understanding of three-dimensional shapes and how geometric features help us classify them.
Curriculum Snapshot:
In ELA, The students spent the week reviewing important skills from throughout the year, including the parts of speech and sight words and vocabulary words they have learned along the way. Our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory reading group is busy finishing their novel, while our Ways to Grow Love group used their creativity to design and create their very own candy bars!
Curriculum Snapshot:
For a fun STEM activity, each center group designed and built paper airplanes. Students tested their designs and made improvements as they prepared for our exciting Third Grade Airplane Challenge taking place next week. We can’t wait to see whose airplane will soar the farthest!
Curriculum Snapshot:
As part of our Four Pillars of Wellbeing work, students played Up Down, a fast-paced team challenge in which two teams worked to flip cups in opposite directions. The game encouraged communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, making it a great connection to our pillar of Community. It also supported Self-Curiosity as students reflected on their individual contributions, how they worked with others, and the strategies they used to overcome challenges together.
