This week during ELA, we continued working on projects for Open House. We also reviewed our new sight words and practiced reading CVC words. This week in math students continued to practice their addition skills! We started our top secret open house project and can't wait to show you all! We practiced our addition skills by playing number bond headbandz, working in our thinkpads, and completed a number line addition walk the room.
Please practice the following sight words at home:

This week in science, we learned about sink and float! We explored how heavier objects usually sink in water, while lighter objects tend to float. Students were also introduced to a new vocabulary word: prediction, which means making a smart guess about what you think will happen before it actually happens.
For our activity, we completed a worksheet where we made predictions about whether different items would sink or float, and then tested them to see if our predictions were correct. Students also had the opportunity to drop in the items they brought from home to observe what would happen. Our students were so excited and engaged throughout the entire activity!
