Hello Red Room Families,
This week in the Red Room, we learned some fun Bee facts. We read a few fun books the first was Bees by Leo Statts, Bee Calm The Buzz On Yoga by Frank J. Sileo, Bee my Friend by Caroline Richards, and Beware! by Bob Roczka. Did you know that bees are amazing little helpers? Bees fly from flower to flower collecting sweet nectar to make yummy honey. As they visit flowers, they help plants grow fruits and vegetables for us to eat! Bees live together in hives and work as a team, just like good friends in our classroom. A queen bee leads the hive, while worker bees stay busy building honeycombs and caring for baby bees.
Bees may be tiny, but they do a very important job in nature. The next time you see a bee buzzing nearby, give it a smile and thank it for helping our world bloom!🌼
The children used bubble wrap cut into the shape of a beehive as a stamp. They dipped the bubble wrap into yellow paint and pressed it onto white construction paper to create their beehives. We then painted each child's hand to look like a bee so they could add it next to their beehive. The children had so much fun exploring different textures and using their creativity during this activity!
The children painted paper plates yellow, then added black stripes, googly eyes, and antennae to create their bees. The wings had already been cut out for them, allowing the children to focus on decorating and assembling their craft. They were very engaged and enjoyed using different materials to bring their bees to life.
For music this week, the children had the opportunity to choose any instrument they wanted during our "Favorite Choice Music Day." They enjoyed exploring different sounds, expressing their creativity, and sharing their favorite instruments with their classmates. The activity encouraged participation, confidence, and a love of music in a fun and engaging way.
During centers, the children enjoyed creating their own unique animals using magnetic animal body pieces. They also had fun playing with pirates and large pirate ships, sorting sea creatures, and building small squares and other structures with Magna-Tiles.
The children showed creativity, problem-solving skills, and great teamwork as they explored each activity.
The Red Roomers always enjoy outdoor play and spending time with friends.
This week, we celebrated Meadow's Birthday! We want to thank Audrey for coming to the Red Room to celebrate Meadow's Birthday. Thank you for bringing in the cute little cupcakes!
We would like to send a very special thank you to Bodhi's dad, Ken, for coming in and reading to the Red Roomers! He shared five wonderful books with us: Should I Share My Ice Cream?, Let's Go for a Drive!, and I Really Like Slop! by Mo Willems; A Giraffe and a Half by Shel Silverstein; and Perfectly Norman by Tom Percival.
The kids did a great job listening to the stories and truly enjoyed this special reading time!
