Finally, the most awaited day of the year arrived, our Open House! This special event showcased a year filled with learning, wonder, and growth for the children. The unit we chose to exhibit this year was The Farm, and we were beyond excited to dive into it through so many wonderful books and hands-on experiences. We even grew our own organic vegetables alongside the children!
Creating our paper mâché pigs, a project that took nearly three weeks to complete, was both rewarding and memorable for the children. Seeing their excited faces as they proudly shared their projects with all of you was truly such a fulfilling experience. The egg maze runners were also a huge hit!
We hope you all enjoyed this beautiful evening celebrating and showcasing your children’s incredible work.
Thank you to all the grandparents & special friends who came today to came to spend time with the wonderful children. We started our morning by showing all of our grown ups our goodmorning circle time, by singing our goodmorning song in spanish, english and french. Shortly after we all enjoyed the book In My Heart by Jo Witek. This book beautifully illustrated all the feelings that children may feel sometimes. It was truly wonderful to see everyone paying such close attention.
When we were done with circle time the children enjoyed taking their grandparents & special friends to centers. At the centers the children enjoyed making bracelets, painted ceramic pots with acrylic paint, and played with playdough. On the rug some of the children opted to build roads, building, and trains. Some of the children gifted some bracelets to their grandparents.
For our last stretch of the day the children took their grandparents to our preschool play yard. The children were so excited to show off their climbing, running and digging skills. It was truly an honor to be part of such a beautiful tradition.
Please enjoy some photos from this weeks outdoor play time!
Please enjoy some photos from this week’s center time! This week, we focused on putting the finishing touches on our Open House art projects. The children worked hard painting the pigs’ feet and adding adorable baby chicks to our farm exhibit. It has been so wonderful watching their creativity and excitement shine as they helped bring their projects to life!
This week we were delighted to receive Siena's grandparents as our special guest readers. Darshini and Priyalal traveled such a long way, all the way from Botswana! Together they brought the children a very special book to read, The Lion Inside by Rachel Bright. Darshini was such a gentle reader guiding us along the way to a beautiful story about animals found on the plains of Africa. This book was a tale about bravery of a small mouse who just wanted his roar heard just as loud as the mightiest lion! It was truly a priveledge to have had Siena's beloved Ammammaa and Seeya.
This year, we had not one, but two Head of School takeovers! Beau Branand, 2nd grade; decided that all the children at school should have happy ice cream & cotton candy after lunch! This was such a beautiful day for our entire TCS community. What would you do if you were Head of School for a day?
Penelope Antler, 5th grade; decided that the entire school should enjoy ice cream after lunch, along with a special farm animal petting zoo. This made the experience even more exciting, as we had just finished our very own farm animal unit! The children had a wonderful time petting the animals and then enjoying delicious ice cream out on the playground.
