This week during ELA, we practiced our new sight words, had reading groups, and wrote in our journals! This week in Math, we practiced identifying 3D shapes! We practiced this skill by completing a shape sort with items around the classroom, a mystery bag game, a shape booklet, and the most fun of all, BINGO! Some students practiced identifying vertices, faces, and edges of 3D shapes.
NEW SIGHT WORDS ALERT! Please practice the following sight words at home:

This week in social studies we learned about racing legend Louise Smith in celebration of Women's History Month. Louise Smith was a pinoneer in the Nascar/Car Racing world, become one of the first women to professionally compete. We read the book Fearless: The Story of Racing Legend Louise Smith by Barb Rosenstock then painted our own wooden race cars.
It was so fun seeing our students have so much fun and do math! Shout out the parents who volunteered. Also, a HUGE shoutout to teachers Claudia and Todd for putting Pi Day together! :)
