ELA:
This week in ELA, we reached a pivotal point in the "S.T.E.A.M. Chasers". The 4th graders learned about conjunctions and how to use F.A.N.B.O.Y.S to remember them. Every day this week the 4th grade class practiced searching for errors and correcting sentences.
Math:
In math, the 4th graders practiced identifying mixed numbers on a number line. Everyday we played a game of "I have...Who has..." (with Fractions) and worked towards beating our score from the day before. The 4th graders also worked together to make a colorful fraction banner that is now hanging in the classroom. To celebrate solving 25,000 times table problems, the 4th graders participated in a cookie decorating activity.
Social Studies:
In Social Studies this week, the 4th grade class discussed the importance of hair in Black culture and learned about the CROWN Act.
