3rd grade

In ELA, we continued reading Ways to Make Sunshine and deepened our understanding of language by working with adverbs, homographs, and articles.

In Math, students focused on multiplication (repeated addition, arrays, and bar models) and practiced reading and interpreting data through activities.

In Science, we participated in a Guide Dog discovery lab where students examined different dogs, discussed their traits, and used evidence to determine which characteristics would make the best guide dog. It was a week full of curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful learning across the curriculum.

4th grade

ELA

In ELA, we unwrapped our new novel study, Ban This Book by Alan Gratz! We also explored author’s purpose, focusing on understanding texts written to persuade, inform, and entertain. Students practiced these skills through a persuasive journal entry.

Math

In preparation for our long division unit next week, students were introduced to division facts and learned how division is the inverse of multiplication.
