ELA:
This week in ELA, the 4th grade class continued our reading of "S.T.E.A.M. Chasers" by Doresa Jennings. We followed the characters Shar, Ebony, Terrenca, Akiya, Marcus and Chase through their scavenger hunt of finding inventions created by Black Americans. For Grammar, we practiced the proper use of apostrophes and commas by using them in everyday sentences. For spelling, we've moved onto words that end in -le and played an engaging game of "Spelling Mariokart".
Math:
In math, we continued practicing fractions through several digital games in Google Classroom. Students practiced creating fraction number lines and identifying where each fraction lies.
Social Studies:
In Social Studies this week, the 4th grade class was introduced to several influential Black figures for Black History Month.
Science:
In Science, we continued to learn about energy and understand how insulators and thermometers work!
They will be representing the 4th grade in the schoolwide spelling bee! Spelling Bee date TBA.
