FRIDAY, 19 December 2025
Lights, songs, candelabrum, gifts, family, and the shortest days of the year -- may your winter break be wonderful, relaxing, and fulfilling!
Thank you to all of you who sent in supplies for our classroom holiday party! Big big thank you to our 5th grade room parents for organizing it! We appreciate all of the effort that it takes for our families to ensure the safety and celebration of our students. Thank you all!
Excellent job on your performance at the Winter Sing, 5th graders!
And, finally, Happy New Year! Safe travels throughout the break, and may 2026 bring all that you hope for!
Important dates + Reminders:
19 December - Winter Break begins!
6 January - Students return to school
This week ELA: Fiction/fantasy stories COMPLETED!!
Our lovely writers have finished their stories! Well done, all!
As writing should not exist in a vacuum, we did a gallery walk to show off the hard work that we put into composing our stories. The students rotated between three different students' tales and wrote down at least three things for each that they enjoyed.
Next week ELA: Begin nonfiction unit after break.
This week Math: Completed travel budget project; assisted in 4th grade's donut project.
4th grade finalized a multiplication unit via a project wherein they created a donut shop including a menu of variously priced victuals. We joined them as customers, purchasing items and collecting change.Â
Additionally this week, we learned about how nice it would be to receive a free $7,000 to put toward a vacation to anywhere in the world. Surprising, we know.
Next week Math: After break, continue decimal multiplication; begin decimal division.
Winter Sing!
Happy birthday, Dynver!
Ryan gave Frisbees and stickers with which to decorate them to the students.
In the name of beginning the new year on the best foot, we cleaned out our desks and cubbies. Some desks and cubbies required more cleaning than others....
